- Map 2 shows the states established in 1790 while most of the country is still owned by Spain and Map 4 show the territories (like: Washington, Nebraska, Utah, Kansas and New Mexico) that were created along with some unorganized territories and the Gadsden Purchase of 1853 from Mexico.
3. List several Native American tribes that were affected by the United States Government expanding into the Territory Northwest of the Ohio R (River) in 1787.

4. List several Native American tribes that were affected by the US expanding as a result of the US buying the Louisiana Purchase from the French in 1803.
